Korean female actress Han Ji-hye has been cast as the female lead in an upcoming SBS two-part series, according to her agency WAYZ Company on Thursday.

WAYZ announced in a press release that Han will play the role of Kim Ha-yeon in the SBS special drama “Dangerous Gift (translated title)” set to air in September.

“Dangerous Gift,” also starring actor Kim Dong-wook, tells the story of a visually impaired teacher named Kim Ha-yeon who is always cheerful and loves her family.

Korean actor Kim Beom will star in a new TV series alongside Jung Woo-sung, according to his agency King Kong Entertainment on Wednesday.

King Kong announced in a press release that Kim, who will be making his comeback to the small screen after a year hiatus, will take on the role of Lee Kook-soo in “Padam Padam” which will mark the establishment of new broadcasting station jTBC.

In “Padam Padam,” written by scenarist Noh Hee-kyung and to be helmed by Kim Kyu-tae, Lee Kook-soo is the best friend to Yang Kang-chul (Jung) and believes that he is Yang’s guardian angel.

The story will also focus on the love story between Yang and a bright and cheerful veterinarian named Chung Gina (played by actress Han Ji-min).

Hallyu star Jang Geun Seok and director Yoon Seok Ho, who produced the drama “Winter Sonata,” have decided to work together. PR agency Y Tree Media said on August 9 that Jang Geun Seok has been cast as the protagonist of director Yoon Seok Ho’s new work entitled “Love Rain” (working title), which will begin airing from the first half of next year.

Writer Oh Soo Yeon and director Yoon Seok Ho, who worked together in the popular dramas “Autumn in My Heart” and “Winter Sonata” ten years ago, will work together again for the drama production. The agency revealed that the drama will be about love transcending the ages both in the 1970s and in the present time. Jang Geun Seok will play the double role of the character Seo In Ha, a sentimental artist who loves only one woman in the 1970s, and Seo In Ha’s son named Seo Joon, a photographer who is freewheeling in his work and love. “Love Rain” will begin filming from next month with a target air date of the first half of next year.
